Eat ST.

This afternoon we ventured over to the hugest food fair in Portland. There were what seemed 100's of 1000's of people. The line to get in alone was 6 blocks long and folded back on itself.

You c the buildings in the center background? The line goes past those! It was mass organized chaos. It cost about 40 to get in and then everything was free except alcohol. The lines were enormous and just to get a bite sized portion of something you had to wait an average of 20 minutes to get it, for each stand!

This was the main artery, it goes to the very end of the bridge. And I am standing in the center.

Tgis is one of the smaller lines for water and alcohol.

I love my wife for making this day a savory experience we will never forget.

Inspired Rant

Over the 20 years of making ads, art, billboards, and all the other visual candy humans have thought up to show people and make them crave or vomit at... I am quite amazed at the evolution of how we as a culture, just in the U.S., want to see things presented and created. From how actors act on TV, how products are built and advertised, what we hear on the radio and how GD's think up new ways to shape our perception of things. I can look at most of the shops and small businesses around where I live and immediately can tell how much someone paid on the look of their business. Or for that matter, how much someone should not have spent on good material and bad ideas.

Our job is to listen to our clients people! Ask the right questions and get our money givers to spill the beans on everything we need to give them exactly what they want... In the end, (for the most part) more money. If your designs don't communicate the service or product and what it does, you might as well be an artist. Anyone can be an artist that makes subjective work that can be interpreted in numerously different ways. A Graphic Designer makes defined work for a client that says a defined message.

Thank you Chase for inspiring this mini rant on gd.

Bordom & tired

It's 1 in the morning and I am waiting for the rest of my files to be transfored and backed up and it is taking a bloody milenium. I am so tired. I would be sleeping right now if I wasn't for stupid file names that have the same dang name.... It jolts the whole process until u click the button that deletes the old file or ignors the new one. 2 terrabytes is so much more of a pain than 500 gigs... I envy my wife in dream land right now.....

Bread Body Parts

Kittiwat Unarrom, a talented artist from Thailand, uses his skills to create unique loafs of bread shaped like various human body parts.

Kittiwat has experimented with many art forms, from painting to sculpting, but it wasn’t until he had to return home and take over the family bakery that he discovered his true passion – making grotesque-looking bread. Since he first started out, in 2006, he has made a name for himself, and his Body Bakery has become a popular tourist attraction.

The gruesome bread Kittiwat Unarrom makes is incredibly realistic looking, but to achieve this level the artist spent many hours studying human anatomy and visiting forensic museums. At the same time, he found it important to make his bread delicious as well, because he didn’t want his art to be just an object of art, he wanted audiences to feel involved. His first batch was pretty good, but it wasn’t delicious, so he kept improving the recipe until he got the taste just right.

When he first started working at his family’s bakery, he was convinced he wasn’t going to get to practice his art anymore, but as soon as he discovered dough, he realized the possibilities are endless. Every day he works with the dough he gets new ideas about new edible art projects, and he believes art shouldn’t be limited to art galleries and museums.

His body-part bread looks just like the real thing, but he admits it’s pretty strange eating someone’s head, piece by piece, and looking in their eyes at the same time. In case you were thinking of going to Thailand for a piece of human-looking bread, forget about it, Kittiwat’s bakery is only selling normal bread, at least for the moment.

Eventfully absent

Waiting in the car...

Well, it has been 2 hours waiting outside my wife's hair appointment. I've just been updating my site and doing some hard work on gregs site to find the right text high light indicator. I feel like an idiot since I can't find one that works yet. It's been how many days? Found a camera today on the sidewalk so that is pretty cool. Bonus.
Was thinking a little about government cover-ups and remembered that general guy from WW2 that came out about the private sector planning to stage a coo against the us gov back when, and when they did the reasearch into it in 193#-somthin, it actually was uncovered with allot of proof yet none of the companies and organizations got in trouble or were brought to justice for trying to hire this general to raise an army for this rebelian... I wish I could rememer his name. Well, let's check... (20 min later) General Smedley Butler... After it was made public, it just went away... I wonder why? Could it b $? Or the corporations warning the government to do what they say or else? Do a little digging and I bet u will b surprised what u find.
